Pet Adoption

You may have heard of pet adoption. It is when someone takes over ownership of a animal after it has been abandoned by its owner or it has been rescued by the animal control after it has been injured or something like that. Pet adoption is very important for the welfare of many pets. Adoption is a great thing to do for animals, and can sometimes be better that simply getting a dog or cat from a breeder. Number one reason is that it is very good to give an animal with a previously tough life a new home. Also, if an animal is not adopted in a somewhat timely manner, it may need to be euthanized. This is obviously not a great solution to an animal that has been let loose in the community. Reason number two is that many of the animals are more mature than an animal adopted from the pound, so their personalities can be more easily predicted than that of a very young animal. Also, the early “puppy” stages can be skipped and the more desirable, potty trained pet stages can be enjoyed. I personally have adopted a pet, and he was one of the best dogs we have ever had, so dont be afraid to give it a try.

So how do these animals end up on the streets anyway? Well there are several reasons… The first being that some owners are no longer able to care for the animals, and this is case in many different variations and scenarios. Some people do not have the money, and some do not have the patience to deal with their pet. Once these owners release the animals, they become stray. After that, these animals can continue to reproduce and produce even more animals. As you can imagine, this can be somewhat of a problem, so this is somewhat bad…
